Nursery Rhymes Remembered
I still remember all of the nursery rhymes I learned when I was a kid. I remember how they made me feel; their pace, their familiarity, the security of sitting on the lap of someone who loves you and letting the rhythm of the words rock you to sleep. I truly believe that those nursery rhymes are the reason I love writing poetry for children to this day.
But something I didn’t notice at that age was that some of the messages in those treasured rhymes are a little disturbing! “Down comes the baby, cradle and all?” “All the King’s horses couldn’t put Humpty Dumpty together again?” Yikes! That’s a little intense! But nursery rhymes still bring me joy, which is why I started this blog. A place to share my new line of cartoons that will, hopefully, brighten the day of anyone who, like me, still remembers the little spider who was determined to climb up the waterspout!
